John RUST
( - Aft 1686)
[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 8, Ed. 1, Tree #0774, Date of Import: 1 Jun 1998]
VA-031: " 100- JOHN, appears to have died without issue. His father as his guardian, brought suit, Feb. 23, 1686-7, (double dates arise from shift in calendar) against Wm. BUTLER, executor of the estate of John WARD, whose widow, Joanna, Wm. BULTER had married. The nature of the suite is not clear from availbable records. Many years later, 211-Captain Peter Rust, nephew of 100-John, presented for record a patent for land in Northumberland County, which had been issued to John Ward in 1663. These patents passed by transfer from hadn to hand in that period in much the same manner as does currency in the present.
