Death

SNELLVILLE — James Marion “Sonny” Furr Jr., 57, of Snellville, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Walton County Regional Medical Center in Monroe. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, with the Rev. Rick King officiating. Burial will follow at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. Dwayne Cleveland, Lee Burgess, Allen Walker, John Roberts, Buddy Sapp, Morris Sapp and Earl Parks will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Furr was born Jan. 13, 1950, in Valdosta, the son of James Marion Furr Sr. and Jacqueline Sapp Furr Childs, both deceased. He was a drywall finisher and a member of New Life Ministries in Loganville. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, Sybil Panter Furr of Snellville; two daughters, Jana Lowder of Dacula and Stephanie Furr of Cumming; three brothers, Jerry K. Furr of Jacksonville, Fla., Thomas W. Furr of Saint Augustine, Fla., and Robert Childs of Plant City, Fla.; three sisters, Judy Davis and Elizabeth Jane Cleveland, both of Waterloo, and Nancy Childs Marling of Mandarin, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jessica Lowder, Jacob Lowder and Grace Lowder, all of Dacula, and Jordan Coffey of Cumming. Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
