Individual Details
Henry FARMER
(29 Jan 1809 - 5 May 1875)
Henry Farmer and his wife Martha Foster were buried on their farm but the graves were destroyed by cattle. I was provided with their birth and death dates. Henry was the administrator of his older brothers William and Simon's estates. Henry Farmer was the son of Enos Farmer, a soldier of the War of 1812 who served in Robertson County, Tennessee. His grandparents were Joseph Farmer, an American Revolutionary patriot, and Zilpha Barnes (her father John Barnes was also an American Revolutionary patriot). Henry's lineage can be traced back Thomas Farmer born 18 July 1681 Charles Parish, York County, Virginia who married Agnes Nicholson in Surry County, Virginia. It is thought that this Thomas Farmer was the great grandson of the immigrant Thomas Farmer (born in 1594) who arrived in Virginia from England on the ship Tyrall in 1616. He was a member of the House of Burgess and was living in Jamestown, Virginia in 1622.
