Death
CONCORD - Mr. Luther Clifford "Luke" Eudy, 87, 4374 Flowes Store Road, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Advent Christian Church in Concord, 1005 Warren C. Coleman Blvd. There will be a 30-minute viewing. The Rev. Louis Dodd and Pastor Roger Byrd will officiate. Burial will be at Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Monroe, with graveside military honors. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. At other times, they will be at the home, 4374 Flowes Store Road, Concord. Born Dec. 21, 1916, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Ivy Elizabeth Barbee Eudy and Eli Brantley Eudy. He retired from Cannon Mills Plant No. 6 with 52 years service as a dye mixer. He was a member of First Advent Christian Church of Concord and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II. Mr. Eudy was a charter member of First Advent Christian Church of Concord. He helped organize the church and was a charter member of the Men’s Fellowship. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post No. 301, Mount Pleasant, and a member of Woodmen of the World. He was also a member of the Cabarrus County Beekeeper’s Association. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J.B. Eudy, Boyd Eudy, and Leroy Eudy; and a sister, Gracie Bell. Survivors include his wife, Ella Alice Haigler Eudy of the home; a son, William Brantley Eudy and wife, Myra, Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Dolores Eudy Videtich, Virginia Beach, Va., and her husband, the late Terry Videtich; and Sharon Eudy Clayton and husband, Mickey, Concord; five brothers, Krone Eudy, Stanfield, Craven Eudy, Mount Pleasant, R.V. "Short" Eudy, Locust, Clayton Eudy, Mount Pleasant and David Eudy, Midland; three sisters, Blanche Cagle, Concord, Dora Tucker, Locust and Annie Kindley, Norwood; four grandchildren, Scott Brantley Clayton and wife, Anissa, Marla Clayton Whittington and husband, Lloyd, Steven Eudy and Brian Eudy; two great-grandchildren, Brantley Clayton and Connor Luke Whittington. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of arrangements.Endnotes
