Jann F. Watson GRAY, Tenn. -- Her favorite gospel song was "I'll Fly Away," and Tuesday morning, May 26, 2015, Jann Barrier Fagan Watson made her flight to God's Celestial Shore. She was born February 15, 1943, in Albemarle, NC, the second daughter of the late Sam and Foy Furr Barrier. Jann lived in Beaufort, SC, for many years and was a paralegal with the Hendricks and Hendricks law firm until she married John L. Watson on October 13, 1989. They moved to Gray, TN, in 1990 and she was a probation officer and domestic violence program manager at Correctional Counseling Institute for 23 years. She retired in October, 2013. She was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, John, are a daughter, Lynn Bunn Hiester (Andy) of Kingsport; her sister, Billie Jo Barrier Bunn (Bob) of Norwood, NC; three grandchildren, Sam Hiester of Kingsport, Luke Hiester of ETSU, and Hope Hiester of Kingsport; stepdaughter, Amy Watson Pruitt (Kyle) of Greenville, SC, stepson, Jack Watson (Jennifer) of Greenwood, SC; five step-grandchildren, Taylor Pruitt (Jessica) and Hayden Pruitt of Greenville, and Kinsley, Olivia, and Abigail Watson of Greenwood; one great-granddaughter, Layla Pruitt of Greenville. As she wished, Jann will be cremated and her ashes interred on the farm in Gray that she and John loved so much. A funeral and celebration of Jann's life will be held at Living Word Lutheran Church, 5210 N. Roan St., Friday, May 29, at 7 p.m. with Pastor Gary Pieper officiating.
