Death
Mrs. Vick Marie Barbee Furr, 54, of Route 1, Oakboro, died Monday night in the Stanly County Hospital following a short serious illness and a period of declining health. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church of which she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. H. A. Byers, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. George Huggins. Born May 7, 1913 in Stanly County, she was daughter of Mrs. Nealie Drye Barbee of Concord and the late Charlie S. Barbee. Her husband, Eli Newell Furr, survives along with one son, Kenneth, of the home; two brothers, Craig Barbee and Roy Barbee of Oakboro; and two sisters, Mrs. Harley Whitley of Oakboro and Mrs. Vaughn Drye of Concord.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, December 15, 1967
