Death

Mr. William Gadd was found dead in his bed early this morning, on Depot street where he lived with a married daughter, Mrs. Furr. Mr. Gadd went to bed last night in apparent good health and nothing developed through the night to indicate otherwise. William Gadd was 61 years of age. He was an Englishman, a miner and came to America when a youth. He and his brother, Robert Gadd, of Charlotte, lived in Cabarrus for many years. He was ever interested in mines and worked and traded in Cabarrus mining property all his life. He married many years ago in the county and raised several daughters all of whom are of whom are married. His father died some years ago in this country. The elder Gadd was an old man at his death and said he was at the battle of Waterloo. The life of William Gadd had been rather an eventful one, full of life action, always with mining as the upper most thought.
