Death
TRINITY-Leidith Blondine Furr, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born on April 19, 1925 in Grayson County, VA, to the late John and Annie Belle Collins Ireland. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a retired employee of Pickett Cotton Mill and she was member of Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church, since 2001. At her church, she was a member of the Bruce Rollins Sunday school class and had served the church in various other capacities, as long as her health permitted. Leidith enjoyed going to the beach, cooking and reading her Bible. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; especially her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Thurman Furr in 1997; a son, Mike Furr in 1967; 2 grandsons, Dino Fausnett and Jerry Lee Furr, Jr.; 2 brothers, Tommy Ireland and John Ireland; a sister, Maxine Skaggs; a son in law, Ernest Fausnett and a daughter in law, Barbara Furr. She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Gloria Jean Fausnett, Larry Furr and his wife Patty, Jerry Furr, and Omer Furr and his wife Ann; her brother, Butch Ireland and his wife Marie; her sister, Luvana Thomas and her husband Jim. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Leidith’s life will be held on Friday, March 3, at 2 pm, at Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Crawford Crenshaw officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 until 1:45 pm, at the church.
