Death

Jerry Allison Furr, 78 years of age, of Concord, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. Jerry was born October 21, 1937 in Cabarrus County, to the late Flaves Lee Furr and Mary Motley Furr. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Ruth Martin; his second wife, Pamela Sue Hobbs; and his brother Coy Furr. A graveside service, with full Military Honors, will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm at West Concord Cemetery, Concord. Survivors include his son, Trent Furr of Kannapolis; his daughters, Trena Furr of Concord, and Tara Barbee of China Grove; two granddaughters, Taylor Allison Barbee and Madison Layne Barbee. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had worked as a ticket agent with Eastern Airlines. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Furr family.
