Death

PONTOTOC - Rosalee Frantz Furr, 82, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Egypt to the late Kenneth Leroy "Bill" Frantz and Walter Belle Archer Frantz. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pontotoc. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pontotoc City Cemetery with the Rev. E.S. Furr, John Furr and Deacon Frank Williams officiating. Browning Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a son, Byron Knox Furr and wife, Betty Henry Furr, of Memphis; a daughter, Allison Furr Caldwell of Pontotoc; brothers, Frank Walton Frantz and wife, Rosemary Owen Frantz, of Aberdeen, and Don Zimmerman and wife, Sarah EvaFurr Zimmerman, of Monteagle, Tenn.; a sister, Virginia "Ginny" Frantz Hughett of Olive Branch; a grandson, James Robert "Todd" Caldwell III of Pontotoc; granddaughters, Emily Knox Caldwell of Pontotoc, and Adrienne Michelle Furr and Shelby Catherine Furr, both of Memphis; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Grace Furr-Cavanaugh of Memphis; special friends, Kathy Whiteside and Ann Rogers of Pontotoc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Knox "Pat" Furr; an infant son, Kenneth Knox Furr; and two brothers, Kenneth LaRue Frantz and Clinton Archer "Ted" Frantz. Pallbearers will be Kenny Tisdale, Mike McKellar, G. Lipscomb, David Whiteside, Ronald Archer, Don Clark and Stan Furr. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, North Mississippi Affiliate, P.O. Box 801, Tupelo, MS 38802-0801.
