Death
VASS — Mrs. Ruth Edith Ferguson, 53, of Star, Rt. 2, died Monday at Moore Memorial Hospital in Pinehurst after a brief illness. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKeithan Funeral Home in Southern Pines with the Rev. William Shamblin officiating. Burial will be in James H. Ferguson Cemetery. Surviving are husband, James H. Ferguson; daughters, Miss Ruth Ferguson, Mrs. Ann Saweikis, Mrs. Marie Lewis, Mrs. Mary Arnette, Mrs. Frances Collins, Mrs. Pat Crouse and Mrs. Jean Lucas of Vass; sons, Bobby Ferguson of Mooresville, Donnie Ferguson of Southern Pines, David, Andy, Bill and James Ferguson Jr. of Vass; brothers, Sam Furr of Vass and Paul Furr of Hamlet; 18 grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.News and Record, Greensboro, North Carolina, June 2, 1982
