KANNAPOLIS — Wilbur Leroy Furr, 83, 5625 Enochville School Road, died Saturday (July 25, 1998) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord. Born April 29, 1915, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Furr was a son of the late William Thomas and Janie Honeycutt Furr. He was a self-employed paint contractor before his retirement. He was also an artist. A member of Bethpage United Methodist Church, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Georgia Rowell Furr, died in January 1996. Survivors include son Douglas Furr., Kannapolis; daughters Pat Watson, Rockwell, and Sylvia Webb, Concord; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 11 am. Tuesday, Bethpage United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Randy Foster. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial, church cemetery. Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. At other times the family will be at the home of daughter Sylvia Webb, 2884 Wendover Road N.W., Concord.
