BETSY FAYE FAIRCLOTH of Rt. 1, West End is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Faircloth who announce her engagement to Sgt. Jerry Wayne Furr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Furr of West End. Sgt. Furr is with the US Army and stationed in Ft. Benning Ga. A June wedding is planned.Miss Betsy Faye Faircloth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Faircloth of Pinehurst, and Jerry Wayne Furr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Furr of West End, were married recently in Bennettesville, S. C. The bride is a June graduate of the Pinehurst High School. The bridegroom attended the West End High School and has served with the First Cavalry Division in Vietnam and at Fort Benning, Ga. He is employed with the Proctor-Silex Company in Southern Pines, where the couple will make their home.

Death
KENBRIDGE - Jerry W. Furr, 57, passed away at McGuire VA Medical Center on Wednesday, April 7, 2004. He was a native of Moore County, N.C., a resident of Kenbridge and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathy T. Furr. Survivors include two daughters, Paula M. Furr of Richmond and Audrey L. Furr of Kenbridge; his son, Keith W. Furr of Kenbridge; grandson, Corey Cox of Richmond; sister, Doris Craven of Graham, N.C.; two brothers, William 'Billy' Furr of Pinebluff, N.C., and Daniel 'Danny' Furr of Vass, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.Published in the Daily Press from 4/9/2004 - 4/10/2004
