EDWIN J. ZAPALAC, 86, born October 6, 1918 in Fayetteville, Texas departed this earthly life on August 11, 2005. Edwin served in the Army Air Corp as a flight engineer on B17 and B24 aircraft during WWII. He worked for Stewart & Stevenson for over 30 years, was a very active church member serving in the St. Vincent de Paul society in several parishes for 23 years, a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus #4550 and active in numerous parish fundraisers; was a member and past president of St. Jerome's KJT Society, # 121. Edwin enjoyed bowling for over 40 years with the KC's and senior leagues. Preceded in death by parents and brother Alfred Zapalac. Survived by wife of 59 years, Justine Zapalac; daughter, Cynthia Furr and husband Patrick; sons, Glenn Zapalac and wife Jean (deceased), Donald Zapalac and wife Pamela, Duane Zapalac and wife Charla, sister Lidwina Hubenak; grandchildren Patrick, Brian and Scott Furr, Melissa Zapalac, Chad Zapalac, Kacy Williams, Matthew and Shelby! Zapalac, great grandchildren Kylie, Shannon and Nathan Furr. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 -8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2005 at Earthman-Hunters Creek Funeral Home, 8303 Katy Freeway. Funeral Mass will be at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood, on Saturday August 13, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in the Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cermetery.
