Death

Claudia Furr Mesimer, 81, of Stanfield, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born January 30, 1942, in Stanly Co. to the late Claude William Furr and Mary Alice McKinney Furr. Claudia worked at Atrium Healthcare for many years where she retired as an insurance coordinator, she was a member of New Life Church in Locust, she enjoyed her flowers, she loved traveling with her late husband Jimmy, she was an excellent seamstress, a great cook a loving mother, grandma, and great grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lee Mesimer Sr., son Ricky Mesimer, daughter, Stephanie Mesimer, brother Willis Furr, granddaughter, Pam Goodman and grandson, Brandon Mesimer. Those left to cherish her memory, son Jimmy Mesimer Jr. (Melissa), daughters, Kimberlee Flowe (Greg), Allison Mesimer, brothers Richard, David, Hubert, Henry, Gearl, and Rick Furr, sisters Barbara Osborne, Gertie Swaringer, 10 Grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brandon Bowers officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, from 6-8 PM, September 8, 2023, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus Co. 5003 Hospice Ln. Kannapolis, NC 28081.
