Death

FORT MILL - Marshall Secford Fisher Sr., 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005. Born April 15, 1921, in Mecklenburg County, N.C., he was the son of the late Scott and Anna Fisher. He was married to Sara Crump Fisher. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church in Pineville, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was retired from Cone Mills after 33 years and was a farmer. Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Kathy Fisher Furr and her husband, Bob; two sons, Marshall Fisher Jr. of Springhill, Tenn., and William George "Bill" Fisher of Wilmington, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee; 10 brothers; and two sisters. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Higher Ground Church, 8365 Possum Hollow Road, with burial in the Pineville City Cemetery. The family will be at their home, 8338 Chatsworth Drive. Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill is in charge.
