Mrs. Evelyn Virginia Underwood Furr, 86, of Raleigh, formerly of Dunn died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Morningside Assisted Living in Raleigh. She was born in Stanley County on March 17, 1928 to the late John and Kate Nash Underwood. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert McCurdy Furr and daughter, Sarah Catherine Furr Cox. Mrs. Furr attended Divine Street United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 17,2014 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home by Rev. David Currie. Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2014 at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, N.C. She is survived by her daughters, Mary McLeod and husband Terry C. of Wilson and Jennifer Blehm and husband Mike of Houston Texas; grandchildren, Rachal Wineinger, Morgan McLeod and Carley McLeod. The family will receive friends, 1-2 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
