Death

Betty Yvonne Taylor began her first birthday in her eternal life with Christ on September 11, 2013, following an illness through the past year. She was born in Woodville Florida on November 17, 1936, the daughter of Layfayette and Rilla Glover. She is survived by three sons, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie Thomas Taylor, and one son, Claude Taylor. After graduation from Florida High School her first employment was with the Department of Corrections for a number of years at which time she also attended TCC taking courses in Criminal Justice. Upon leaving the Department of Corrections she was employed by Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with the beginning position of secretary to the Assistant Administrator and after a short time was promoted to Secretary for the Hospital Administrator M.T. Mustian and continued to move up the ladder of success eventually retiring as Vice President of Volunteer Services. She was a licensed Real Estate Sales person and in her spare time sold real estate, as well as produced and directed beauty pageants. She was very active in a bible study group at Chapel Hill Baptist Church for a number of years which she enjoyed as well as very involved in her bridge club. She was always an extremely beautiful lady inside and out and she adored her family dearly and expressed to god many times how grateful and lucky she was to have them. Visitation will be Saturday, September 14th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Abbey Funeral Home as well as Funeral Services on Sunday, September the 15th at 1:00 followed by interment at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
