Death
Evelyn Sue Furr was born to Anna (Belle) and Clinton Howard Carter on Aug. 1, 1943 in Oklahoma City. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1961 before marrying her husband Robert Furr and moving to Newcastle over 40 years ago. Evelyn attended Calvary Baptist Tabernacle and was currently employed as a Wal-Mart greeter. She loved spending time and traveling with her family. Evelyn passed away after a long battle with cancer on July 27, 2011 at 67 years of age. Survivors include her sons, Robert Furr, Jr. of Oklahoma city, Howard Furr and his wife, Karen, of Paris, Texas, Terry Furr and his wife, Kimberly, of Oklahoma City, Bryan Furr and his wife, Alisha, of Newcastle, Blake Furr of Newcastle, Clinton Furr of Newcastle; daughter, Melissa Marshall of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; sisters, Doris Brinlee and her husband, Richard, of Choctaw, Ann Marie Blake and her husband, Bruce of Del City; numerous other relatives and friends. "Nana" would not have wanted this to be a time of sorrow, but to rejoice in that she had been delivered after a long battle with cancer and to hold the hand of her partner in life "Papa". Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Furr, daughter, Robin Sue, and sister, Francis. Services for Evelyn were Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Eisenhour Chapel in Blanchard. Reverend Jim Newkirk officiated with interment held in the Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City.
