Notes
Death
Cheryl Kay Lawler, affectionately known to loved ones as “Ma,” left this world with wings on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the age of 67, after a long-fought battle with cancer. Cheryl was born on October 6, 1956, in Hunt, Texas. She was the second of six girls. Cheryl moved to Junction, Texas at the age of 12 with her mother and sisters. She met the love of her life, Robert Larry Lawler on November 21, 1971. They would then marry on August 3, 1974, and continue their life together for almost fifty-three years. Cheryl spent most of her working life in the field of nursing, and over thirtyseven years in the newspaper business with her husband, Larry. Anyone that knew Cheryl knew what a hardworking and strong woman she was. She had many hobbies and was good at so many things, but one thing Cheryl sure did love was her Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Cheryl is preceded in death by Lester Lawler of Junction; sister Judy Raney of Junction; sister Kathy Bland of Junction; and infant sister Sandra Furr. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Larry Lawler of Menard; her mother, JoAnn Lawler of Junction; two sisters, Karen (Ronald) Jordan of Mason; and Brenda Furr of Port Lavaca. Her sisterin law Diane (Ted) Reisner of San Angelo; three sons, Banshee Dallas Lawler and significant other, Julie of Abilene; Jerry Bunt Lawler and wife Stacy of Menard; Dray Dallas Lawler and wife Araceli of Menard; six grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Thompson, Kalar Payne Lawler, Quince Thomas Lawler, Landry Ireland Lawler, Kaden Layne Lawler and significant other, Ambriana Oliver, Kendal Colleen Lawler, two great-grandchildren Lyric Axel Lawler, and Gracelynn Rosa Beth Lawler, as well as eight nephews and one niece. This is not goodbye but only a pause in our life together. I will crossover to you one day. We will walk hand in hand with our lord and Papa and Jerry “Bunt” Ragland, our best friend. Rest in heavenly peace, Ma. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Adams, William Cowey, Ronald Jordan, Lee Vanacker, and Ted Reisner.
