Ron Furr passed away on October 27, 2009 after a long illness. born August 28, 1943 he was 66 years old. He is survived by Joy his wife of 38 years, son Tim Whiteley and wife Susan of Porterville. His daughters; Caryn Thompson of Bakersfield, Pam Thompson of Porterville, Julie Boone and husband Dan of Visala and Shelley Furr of Visalia. Sisters; Gloria Dennis, Paula Johnson and husband Bob of Porterville. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Georganna "nee" Risenhoover Furr, his parents Rex and Selma Furr and grandson, Scottie Miller. He will be missed by all. A "Celebration of Life" ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 1st from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Women's Club located at Putnam and "D" Street in Porterville across the street from Myer's Chapel. All arrangements are being handled by Myer's Funeral Chapel. No flowers please. Any donations may be made to your favorite charity.
