LANCASTER – Mr. Perry Franklin LaFoy, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2010. He was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Greenville, the son of the late Edward F. LaFoy and Pauline Womick LaFoy. He was the husband of Eldora Furr LaFoy. Mr. LaFoy retired from the Lancaster Telephone Co. after 37 years of service. He was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He served in the Pacific in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. LaFoy is survived by his wife, Eldora Furr LaFoy; two daughters, Saundra L. Hager and her husband, Boyd, of Archdale, N.C., and Jean L. Reed of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Eddie Lee Frost of Collinsville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Ronnie Wright and his wife, Jeannette, and Richie Reed, all of Lancaster, Becca Reed of Tulsa, Okla., Leland Hager of Muskogee, Okla. and Naomi Hager of Wilmington, N.C.; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. LaFoy was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred LaFoy. The celebration of life graveside funeral service for Mr. LaFoy will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Lancaster Memorial Park by Mr. Boyd Hager, with burial to follow. The family of Mr. LaFoy will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Monday, June 21, at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
