Marriage
Laurel, July 7—The wedding of Lt. Pauline Beatrice Marstellar, Nurses Corps, U. S. Army, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Andrew Marstellar, Baltimore, Md., and John Marvin Furr, lieutenant. U. S. Army Air Forces, son of Mrs. Richard K. Booth and the late Dr. John Marvin Furr of Laurel, as solemnized on July 3rd at the post chapel, Randolph Field, Antonio, Texas where the bride and groom are now stationed. Chaplain George W. Goodley performed the ceremony. The altar was decorated with white Esther daises and fern and lighted cathedral candles. Sgt. Donald Willing, organist, gave the musical program. The bride, given in marriage by Lt. Col. J. Nerhill Reek, commanding officer of the Randolph Field hospital, was gowned in white marquisette over taffeta. Her finger-tip veil was caught to her coiffure with a pearl-studded coronet. She carried a Colonial bouquet of white peonies and stephanotis. Lt. LaVerne Maurice Chagnard, Randolph Field, was the bride’s attendant. Her frock was of pale pink marquisette over taffeta and her Cardinal cap was the same shade. Her arm bouquet was of pink carnations. Lt. Hugh Irving Gilham, U. S. Army Air Forces, served as best man. A reception followed at the Officers’ club which had white and green for the decorative motif. Lts. Rose Taylor and Ruth C. Jackson, U. S. Army, assisted in serving refreshments. Richard K. Death
LAUREL — Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today in Laurel for Pauline Marsteller Furr, 82, of the Hebron community, who died Jan. 16, 1998, at her residence. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Marsteller and Dave Marsteller. Survivors include her husband, John M. Furr of Hebron community; one son, John R. Furr of Hebron community; two daughters, Ann Kiick and Mary Kay Juliano, both of Laurel; two sisters, Margaret Nobles of Naples, Fla. and Elnora Wilson of Baltimore, Md. and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1209, Hattiesburg, Miss. 39403.
