ALBEMARLE -- Edna Cora Hahn Bailey, 87, 1230 Mount Creek Road, died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 2003) at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Born March 30, 1916, in Stanly County, Mrs. Bailey was a daughter of the late Minnie Lee Green Hinson and Fred Hahn. She worked as a comber for American Efird Textiles and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, New London. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Bailey; a grandson; and a great-grandson. Survivors include son Ronald Lee, Albemarle; daughters Julia Carter, Polly Mason and Alta Poplin, all of New London, Jennette Eudy, Oakboro, and Joyce Bagwell, Annette Jones, Diane Kimrey and Deborah Huneycutt, all of Albemarle; sisters Eltis Lankford, High Point, Ramelle Norton and Alma Harwood, both of Albemarle; brothers J.D. Furr, Richfield, and the Rev. Mahlon Furr, Albemarle; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Hartsell Funeral Home. Burial, Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery, New London. Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
