Death
Mrs. Martha Eugenia Evans, 87, of Brookhaven, died at King’s Daughters Hospital following a long illness. Services were held at 3 p. m. from the Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. John Moore officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Hartman’s Funeral Home. Born in Lawrence County, Mrs. Evans had resided in Brookhaven for sometime. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving her are four sons, Walter P. Evans, Brookhaven, Carlos Evans, Jackson, Nonnie Evans, Mobile and Denmon Evans, Long Beach, Miss.; a half-brother, Joe Furr, Natchez; two step-brothers, Clyde and Jim Coker, both of Brookhaven; two sisters, Mrs. John Evans, Mobile, and Mrs. J. V. Lea, Brookhaven; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Leon Willamson, Albert Noland, 0. J. Nicholas, Clyde Coker, Joe Furr and G. W. Evans.Endnotes
