Death

ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Mattie Ann Furr Burris, 68, died last night at 9 at the Stanly County Hospital. She was born May, 1896 in Union County, the daughter of Robert and Sarah Morgan Furr. She was first married to Harvey Drake who died. Her second marriage was to John H. Burris who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Thurman of Albemarle, and Foil, of Oakboro; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Efird and Mrs. Nina Yarbrough, both of Albemarle; 19 grandchildren and thre (sic) great-grand- children. One brother, Will Furr, of Waxhaw, and one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Little of Rockwell. Funeral services will be at Poplin Grove Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday. The burial will be in the Clark Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes before the service. The Rev. Farrell Shimpock and the Rev. Banks Mullis will be in charge of services.
