Added by KatrinaPiper492 on 20 Apr 2009 Probate papers show where Nancy Caroline's father retrieved the children following the death of Jefferson in Sept 1857. William "Jefferson" Ray encountered what was called 'black damp' while digging a well, Nancy died the same month, but have not found proof of the cause.
