Death
Mrs. Camilla “Millie” Wright Furr, 61, of 1918 Greenstone Place died Dec. 31, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Guilford County, a daughter of Claud and Louise Davis Wright. She had been a High Point resident all of her life. She had owned and operated Oak Hollow Tavern and Penny Profit Grocery. She was married to Guy “P-Nut” Furr, who survives of the residence. Also surviving are three daughters, Sheila Cardwell and husband, Anthony, of Lexington, Sherri Furr and Beth Brown, both of Cayce, S.C.; three grandchildren, Melissa Cardwell, Zeke Cardwell and Eli Cardwell; two sisters, Rhonda Register and Judy Mabe, both of High Point; and two brothers, Douglas Wright of Thomasville and Gerald Wright of Virginia. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point by Pastor Steve Smith. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. he family would like to express its sincere appreciation to the following who gave so much support during Mrs. Furr’s illness: Hospice of the Piedmont, the nurses on 7th Floor North at High Point Regional Hospital, Dr. George Sanders, Dr. Daniel Jobe and Dr. Donald DeCoy.Endnotes
