Twin of Timothy Allison FurrDeath
James Fulton Furr, age 79 of Irving, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018. He was born on June 2, 1939 and was adopted along with his twin brother, Timothy, to Fulton and Irene Furr. His twin brother preceded him in death exactly one week earlier. Jim is also preceded in death by his parents and another brother Malcolm Sherrod. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Elliott, on May 23, 1972 in Hurst, TX. Jim graduated from Pontotoc High School in Pontotoc, Mississippi in 1957 and then served in the United States Air Force from March 1959 to May 1965, after he got out of the service he went to DeVry Institute of Technology. He worked for Braniff Airlines for seventeen years and then worked for NEC of America. Jim loved sports, especially football and baseball, and was an avid golfer. Jim was a loving husband, father, often a coach, and role model. He was known as “dad” and “papa” to all his kids and grandchildren, and their friends. He will be dearly missed by everyone. Jim leaves behind his wife, Charlotte Furr; daughter, Kena Furr (Jay); sons, Rolf Kissling (Gundula); Jeffrey Furr (Lori); grandchildren, Megan Furr, Tara Furr, Jacob Furr, Sonja Zubke; great-grandchildren, Emery and Logan Furr; and numerous, other family members and friends. A Memorial Service to Celebrate his life will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home.Endnotes
