Death
MOUNT GILEAD - James Darrell "Sonny" Furr, 52, of Route 3 died Friday at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Stanly County, he was a retired carpenter and a former employee of Freeman Construction Co. in Albemarle. Surviving are wife, Rosa Brock Furr; son, Chris Furr of the home; daughter, Mrs. Jane Smith of Oakboro; father, Horris Furr of Albemarle; mother, Myrtle Furr of Mount Gilead; brother, Donnie Ray Furr of Greensboro; sister, Mrs. Nancy McRay of Badin; one grandchild. The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to North Carolina Diabetes Foundation.Endnotes
