Death
NEW LONDON — Donna Lowder Furr, 73, of Route 1, died early today at her home. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Chris Bennett, pastor, the Rev. James Allred and the Rev. Pressley Rutledge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, tonight from 7 to 9. Born Aug. 13, 1912, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late A. Clay and Julia Eudy Lowder. A homemaker, she was an active member of New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, a former member of the Eastern Star and past president of the North Carolina Home Demonstration Extension Service. Survivors include her husband, Martin Furr; two daughters, Mrs. David (Pamela) Ford and Mrs. Lysle (Gale) Misenheimer, both of Richfield; two sisters, Elsie “Daisy” Dennis of Albemarle and Reather “Ollie” Frick of Mount Pleasant; and three grandchildren.Endnotes
