Eura Vivian (Maxwell) Furr, age 79, lifelong Stringtown OK resident, was born on December 18, 1915, at Fulsom Ranch in Atoka County OK to Winfred V. and Myrtle M. (Jones) Maxwell. She passed away on July 20, 1995, at Stringtown. She attended Stringtown schools and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She also attended business college in Tulsa OK. She married Cecil Bruce Furr on April 22, 1939, at Atoka. She worked in the Atoka County Treasurer's office and was Postmaster of Stringtown for 21 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Stringtown First Baptist Church. Eura was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, National League of Postmasters, and BPW Club of Atoka. She is survived by her son Bruce Maxwell Furr and wife Betty of Stringtown; daughter Maxine Wilson and husband Butch of Stringtown; grandchildren Eddie Wayne Thompson of Centerpoint OK, Terri Ledford of Stringtown, and Lisa Bagherpour of Sewell NJ; great-grandchildren Roy Gene McIninch of Stringtown, and David and Cima Bagherpour of Sewell NJ; sisters Helen Thompson and husband George of Terrell TX, and Floy Struck of Atoka. Eura was preceded in death by her parents Winfred and Myrtle (February 1978) Maxwell of Stringtown; husband Cecil Furr of Stringtown on April 25, 1968; and sister Juanita Maxwell.
