HICKORY FLAT — James Clay Furr, 92, former farmer, carpenter, state forestry worker and substitute teacher, died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. Services were Sunday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany had charge. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Furr, the widower of Eva Hankins Furr, leaves a daughter, Annie Lillian McCallum of Hickory Flat, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Tennessee, February 11, 2002
