Death
Funeral services for Ralph M. Furr, 66, of McKinney are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Ron Hathcoat and Dr. James Furr officiating. Burial will be in Cottage Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 tonight. Furr died Monday at his residence. He was born July 6, 1930 in McKinney to Clarence L. and Jessie M. Robinson Furr. He married Ruby Lynn (Dee) Callahan in Celina on June 15, 1949. Furr was a retired training supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a member and a deacon at Mill Baptist Church, a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a 32nd Degree Mason. Furr was preceded in death by his parents and by a son-in-law, Stewart Huber. Survivors include his wife, Dee Furr of McKinney; two daughters, Susan Huber of McKinney and Sherry Stroope and her husband, Bret, of Prosper; three granddaughters, Beth Stroope and Brooke Stroope, both of Prosper, and Amanda Huber of McKinney; three brothers, Jack Furr and his wife, June, of McKinney, Dale Furr and his wife, Jan, of Hereford, and Gerald Furr and his wife, Pat, of Prosper; a sister, Carolyn Shaw and her husband, Butch, of Denton, and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
