Death

CONCORD -- Charles Bennett Furr, 71, died Friday, September 27, 2002 at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, NC. He was born February 16, 1931 in Midland, Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Callie Belle Honeycutt Furr Forestor and Alfred Theodore Furr. He was a truck driver for Smith's Transportation and a veteran of the US Army. The memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel-Concord with The Rev. Stanford Fields officiating. Mr. Furr served in the US Army during the Korean War. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Survivors are wife, Jewel D. Furr of the home; sons, Charles Craig Furr of Concord, NC; John Stephen Furr of Lake Wylie, NC; sister, Kathleen Tyson Beard of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Furr; and grandson, Jonathan Charles Furr. Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord is in charge of arrangements.
