Death
Roger Lee Furr, 57, of W-44 Mountainview Dr., died Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in Cherokee Memorial Hospital. A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of Mrs. Ella McKinney Furr of Blacksburg and the late Sam Baxter Furr, a retired painter, a veteran of: World War II and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mabel Moore of Blacksburg. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery conducted by Rev. Herman Thomas. Pallbearers will be Roger Downey, Johnny George, Donald Painter, Everett and Kirk Reynolds and Jackie Stanford.
