Death
FURR, Andrew L. Andrew Furr was born in McKinney, Texas, June 15, 1918. He graduated from high school in Dallas, Texas. He spent three years in the service during World War II as a staff sergeant cartographer. He attended 3 ½ years at Los Angeles Art Center and had his own commercial art studio, Andrew L. Furr Advertising Artists in Hollywood. He married Madeline Sherman on September 5, 1953 at St. Monica's Church. He is survived by his wife, Madeline; his two daughters, Michele Furr and Charisse Furr Berne (and husband Dan); his granddaughter, Jessie Lee Furr; his step-mother Geraldine Furr; his half-brother Edward Furr;and his step-sister Irene Wells. He loved traveling, reading, and painting, and his family above all. He died September 16, 2000. Funeral Mass and rosary will be held at St. Elizabeth's Church in Van Nuys on Wednesday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will have been held the previous evening, Tuesday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Praiswater Meyer-Mitchell Mortuary, 5940 Van Nuys Blvd. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations either to the American Heart Association, St. Elizabeth Church or to another charity of their choice.The Los Angeles Times, April 20, 2000
