Death
Funeral services for Madie Lee Pearson were held at 10 a.m. today at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Burial followed in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney. Pearson was a graduate of North Texas State University and pursued an art-teaching career in Wortham, Gladewater and Dallas at Ben Milam and Dan D. Rogers.She was a member of the 20 Club, art clubs, book clubs and craft clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. (Jake) Pearson and parents, Rufus A. and Pearl Furr of McKinney. Survivors include two cousins, Gladys George and William Nelson; two sisters-in-law, Marguesitte Hines and Mrs. Ralph Pearson; and a nephew, Ralph Pearson Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to Buckners Children’s Home or the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home of Dallas.The Courier-Gazette, McKinney, Texas, July 21, 1997
