Death

Bessie Peggy Furr, 81, a resident of Silver City, passed away at home Friday morning. She worked at the old Hillcrest General Hospital for 15 years where she was a licensed practical nurse. She was married to William C. Furr on Oct. 9, 1925, in the Grant County Courthouse, and he preceded her in death in 1952. She is survived by her daughter, Janie Herrick of Silver City; one son, Phillip Aguirri and his wife, Myriam, of Portales; one sister, Cynthia Avery of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Frank Moore and his wife, Dilia, of Bethany, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one sister in law, Lorraine Moore of Apache, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to l p.m. in the Curtis Bright chapel. Graveside services will be that same day at 2 p.m. in the Mesa Cemetery in Gila with the Rev. Van Bevill officiating. Arrangements are by the Curtis Bright Funeral Home.
