Death
J.R. Furr, 87, of Alexandria, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in Rapides General Hospital. A native of Calhoun County, Ark., he was a retired lumber inspector and a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Allie Haynie Furr of Alexandria; a daughter, Mrs. Berlan Hargis of Alexandria, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Hope H. Teague of Alexandria. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Alexandria, with Rev. Schuyler M. Batson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.The Town Talk - Alexandria, Lousiana, June 23, 1974
