Death

Mrs. Dorothy V. Furr Martin, age 90 of Cedartown formerly of East Point passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. Mrs. Martin was born on September 14, 1922 in Carroll County, daughter of the late Charlie Furr and the late Eula Neal Furr. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jimmy Martin; four sisters, Mrs. Charlene Furr Dowda, Mrs. Opal Furr Burgess, Mrs. Erma Furr Anderson and Mrs. Mary Furr Hogan; and three brothers, Mr. Gary C. Furr, Mr. John Furr and Mr. Paul Furr. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Jere and Judy Furr of Cedartown, Robin McMillan of Marietta, Sheryl Baker of Snellville, Lawrence Burgess of Arizona, Kim Dowda of Gainesville, Melanie Anderson Arntt of Gainesville and Charles Anderson of Chamblee. Funeral graveside and entombment services for Mrs. Martin will be held on Thursday, April 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Westview Cemetery of Atlanta with Rev. Marian Wilkerson officiating. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy V. Furr Martin.
