Death
Fort Pierce Tribune (FL) - November 29, 2000Huber H. Furr , 80, died Nov. 26, 2000. He was born in Atlanta, Ga. and recently moved to Woodbury, Minn. from Fort Pierce, Florida. Mr Furr was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida for 48 years originally coming from Kissimmee, FL. Mr. Furr was a St. Lucie County teacher for over 30 years. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Florida. He was a member and a Deacon of Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Furr was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40, the St. Lucie Historical Society and a summertime parks and recreation director. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-laws Barbara and John Horn of Woodbury, Minn. and Brenda and John McNeil of Herndon, Va. and five grandchildren; John Horn III and Melissa Horn of Woodbury, Minn. and John McNeil, Jr., Adam McNeil and Stephen McNeil of Herndon, Virginia. Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Furr and a brother, Samuel Furr. SERVICES: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday with a service to be held at 11 a.m. with the Dr. Dale Ingersoll, officiating in the chapel of Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Pierce. Burial will be in White City Cemetery.
