FORT PIERCE - Helen Furr , 69, of Fort Pierce died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. A native of Graceville, Fla., she lived in Fort Pierce for 48 years. She moved here from Kissimmee. Before retirement, she was a Fort Pierce Elementary School teacher for 30 years. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and a 1950 graduate of Florida State University, where she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Huber Furr of Fort Pierce; two daughters, Barbara Horn and husband John of Woodbury, Minn., and Brenda McNeil and husband John of Herndon, Va.; two brothers, Angus Cassady of Graceville and Jack Cassady of Reidsville, N.C.; a sister, Mary Eleanor Cooper of Graceville; and five grandchildren. A service was held Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Ingersoll officiating. Burial was in White City Cemetery. Arrangements were by Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home of Fort Pierce.
