Death
Shelton William Furr, 77, of 7844 Hestia Place, Pensacola, died Saturday at a local hospital. Mr. Furr was a native of Alabama and has resided in this area for the past 11 years. He was a master mechanic with the International Paper Company. He was a member of the Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church and a life member of the Masonic Tentalpha Lodge No. 804 of Saraland, Ala. Mr. Furr was also a member of the Valley of Mobile Scottish Rite Temple and the Quarter Century Club of the International Paper Company in Natchez, Miss. Survivors include his wife, Quina Stringer Furr of Pensacola; one son-in-law, Paul B. Rigsby of Pensacola; one daughter, Billie Joyce Rigsby of Pensacola; two brothers, Rev. Frank Furr of Enterprise, Ala., and Grant Furr of Saraland, Ala.; two sisters, Wilda Padgett and Dottie Corley, both of Saraland; one grandson, Randall Paul Rigsby of Gainesville, Fla.; and one aunt, Odie Benson of Coffeeville, Ala.. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today in the Oak Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edward Chandler officiating. Burial will be in the Pensacola Memorial Gardens with Oak Lawn Funeral Home directing and Masonic graveside services. Pensacola Masonic Lodge No. 42 will open at 1 p.m. today for those attending services. Active pallbearers will be James Bryant, Charles Polk, Dr. Donald Colley, Willis Cobb, the Rev. Billy Wade Henson and John Corley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Cohn, David Mueller, Joe Maceluck, C.J. Curry, Robert Shaw, William Mayne, the Rev. George Mathison, S.S.
