Death
Mrs. Willie H. Furr died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Pettit in West Monroe, La., Wednesday morning. She was 78 and had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services will be held at Smyrna Presbyterian church in Attala county Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Last rites will be in charge of the Rev. E. L. Jackson, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Kosciusko. Burial will follow in Smyrna cemetery, conducted by Jordan Funeral Home. Mrs. Furr, the former Miss Lou Ella Johnson, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Johnson and was born in Neshoba county. She came with her parents at an early age to Attala county, making her home in the Smyrna community for over 60 years. She was widely known and respected in this section. She was a member of the Smyrna Presbyterian church and active in church and community affairs as long as her health permitted. She was preceeded (sic) in death by her husband in 1936. She leaves a son James G. Furr, Smyrna; one daughter, Mrs. O. E. Pettit, West Monroe, La.; a granddaughter, Bobbie Pettit, Dallas, Texas.The Star-Herald, Kosciusko, Mississippi, November 24, 1955
