Death
Mrs. Eva Brooks Furr, 55, of Route 2, Stanfield, died Wednesday as 7:30 a.m. in the Stanly County Hospital following a short illness. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 4 p. m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. Melvin Curlee, pastor, officiated after the body had lain in state in the church for 30 minutes. Interment was in the church Cemetery. Born April 20, 1906, Mrs. Furr was the daughter of the late C. W. and Flora Greene Brooks of Stanly County. Surviving are her husband, Claude W. Furr; one son, Harold C. of Marshville; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Morton, Mrs. Hubert Morton, Mrs. Clifford Mills, and Mrs. Charles Efird, all of the Stanfield area; 14 grandchildren; and one brother, Crawford Brooks of Stanfield.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, March 2, 1962
