Individual Details
Mary Cecelia BARNHARDT
(2 Sep 1891 - 7 Jan 1962)
Hi Bill, Don't know about that nurse Mary Furr, but my grandmother Nurse Mary Cecelia Barnhardt Furr was as much a saint to the city of Concord, N.C. When I went back there to finish my high school the psychology teacher was one of many who thanked me and told me how special Mammaw had been to her dying mother. Mammaw's front page obituary called her the Angel of the Night. Our nurse Mary was in the first graduating class of RNs at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital married to Walter Luther Furr, City civil engineer for about 20 years, and perhaps the most wonderful woman I ever met.
