Death
Reverend Hermon J. Porter, 84, of Dyer, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born July 24, 1931 in Dyer to the late Roy and Edna Porter. He was the Pastor at the Dyer Assembly of God. He pastored and built Assembly of God churches nationwide, including Dyer, Alma, and Liberty, OK. He is survived by his wife, Hilda of the home; four daughters, Barbara Thomas of Fort Smith, Janice Lloyd of Van Buren, Sandra Brock of Dyer, and Tammie Jackson of Fort Smith; two sons, Larry Porter of Houston, and Terry Porter of Navarre, FL; fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Dyer Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.Endnotes
