Death
CONCORD Mrs. Ruby Lee Faggart Manus, 89, of the Rimer community, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at Transitional Health Services. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, officiated by the Rev. Ron Hughes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. this evening (Sunday, May 5), at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. At other times the family will be at the home of Gary and Sheree Manus. Mrs. Manus was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late John Faggart and Mary Ella Furr Faggart. She was retired from Cannon Mills with 45 years of service. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was active in the WELCA. She was also active at Boger Reformed Church, with the Lords Acre Sale, Noodle making, Quilting and Canning. She was preceded in death her husband, Kenneth Lee Manus; and two brothers, John and Joe Faggart. She is survived by two sons, Gary Manus and wife, Sheree and Keith Manus and wife, Mary Beth; grandchildren, Kyle Manus and wife, Ashley, Mary and Katie; great-grandchildren, Ruby and Lily; sister-in-law, Betty Faggart; and a special cousin, Linda Wilson and husband, Bob. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4500 Rimer Rd., Concord, NC 28025 or Boger Reformed Church, 7313 Gold Hill Rd., Concord, NC 28025.
