Death

Atlanta native, Linda Furr Brown, died peacefully July 23 at her home in Sarasota FL. She was 87. Linda was born October 6, 1938 at the family home in Sand Hill, GA and grew up in Villa Rica, GA. She was salutorian of her class at VRHS and captain of the cheerleading squad. Linda studied at West GA College, was graduated from UGA and pursued graduate studies at USC. She received her pilot's license in 1965, shortly before moving to Atlanta to work for Eastern Airlines. Linda's love for travel was intense and she became known as a go-to source for travel ideas. Linda globetrotted in her unique way - as a visitor rather than a tourist - and with her boys in tow. Her "way" was contagious, daring, challenging and rewarding. Positive learning experiences were guaranteed. She leaves behind brother Lamar Furr, sons Patrick and Jason and devoted husband Bruno Tassone. In addition, her mantra and signature phrase "think positively!" is forever embedded in so many she knew and under countless circumstances. It was her answer to how she lived such a grand life and invited others to do the same.
